My First Guest Post for Mahas Lovely Home

My First Guest Post for Maha's Lovely Home....

Today I am sharing my first Guest Post for Usha - well known as Maha, who is the author of Maha's Lovely Home, a blog that I follow many times, and also a space I visit frequently... She is a great food blogger and has been blogging past many years. Also I have noticed, whenever I have visited her blog, that she is great in baking and has many baking dishes and really helpful for beginners like me. Check her blog here at Mahas Lovely Home.


Few days back she invited me to do Guest Post for her blog space, and its really a great pleasure for me,to do it for her and preparing a dish for her space. 

I am preparing a easy, healthy and tasty Breakfast dish made in few minutes and that too with simple ingredients and its called Banana Rolls.

Cabbage Poriyal

Cabbage Poriyal - is a stir fry sabji which is one of the easiest, tasty and perfect lunch vegetable dish served with South Indian meals. I hardly make it, as it doesnt match up much with North Indian dishes, but I like this sabji a lot, so thought of sharing it s well.

Ingredients:
Cabbage 1 small.
Onion 1/2 small
Green Chili 1 slit
Salt as per taste
Oil 1 tbsp
Mustard Seeds 1 tsp
Urad Dal 1/2 tsp
Curry Leaves 4 - 5 
Freshly Grated Coconut 1 - 2 tbsp{as per liking}

Method:
Firstly wash and chop cabbage into long thin slices. Keep ready aside.

Thinly slice onion and keep ready.

Heat oil in a pan. Once hot, add mustard seeds, urad dal, green chili and curry leaves and saute.

Now add onion and saute until it turns color and becomes transparent.

Now add thinly sliced cabbage and close with a lid immediately for a minute or two.

Open it, add salt and sprinkle water and cover and cook for around 8 - 10 minutes, or until cooked.

Open and add the freshly grated coconut, mix well and switch it off.

Serve.

Note:
Channa dal can be added while tempering.

After adding coconut, switch it off, else coconut might start leaving its smell.

Tindora Nu Shaak

Tindora Nu Shaak is a famous Gujarati sabji, perfect with roti during lunch time and I usually make this for our lunch box, with roti, and dal rice. It is easy, simple yet tasty. 

Today I am making this sabji directly in pan. I have made similar type of sabji in a much easier way by cooking it in pressure cooker. Check the recipe below here - Tindora Nu Shaak in Pressure Cooker

Ingredients:
Tindora 250 gms
Oil 1 to 2 tbsp
Mustard Seeds 1/2 tsp
Asafoetida 1 pinch
Turmeric Powder 1 tsp
Red Chili Powder 1 tbsp
Salt as per taste

Method:
In a pan, heat oil. Once heated, add mustard seeds. As it splutters add asafoetida.


Now add tindora, turmeric powder and salt and immediately close with a lid.

After a minute, open and mix once. 

Again cover and allow the vegetable to get cooked. In between open and mix once. If needed, add little water and again cover and cook. It will take almost 10 minutes for the vegetable to get cooked. Vegetable would have turned soft and little transparent, which means the tindora's are cooked. 

Now open, add red chili powder and cover and cook for a minute.

Switch off. Our sabji is done.

Serve with rotli / roti / chapati...
